Ascendo Resources is actively seeking a AR/Collections Clerk for an immediate, full-time, onsite position with a growing facilities services company in Astoria, NY.

The AR/Collections Clerk will primarily focus on accounts receivable and billing tasks, including invoicing, cash management, and reporting. This role offers the opportunity to grow into a more general accounting position, and the client is willing to provide training.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of AR/billing experience, proficiency in Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs, and a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

Work Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $22/hr

Key Responsibilities:

Perform high-volume billing and invoicing with accuracy and efficiency.
Manage accounts receivable by reaching out to customers regarding aged balances via phone and email.
Conduct data entry and booking of journal entries in the system.
Respond to internal and external clients promptly and professionally.
Handle multiple projects simultaneously while staying organized and maintaining attention to detail.
Communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and management.
Represent the company professionally on calls and in written correspondence.
Assist in pulling reports and manipulating data in Excel.
Work collaboratively within a team of four AR/Billing professionals to ensure smooth department operations.
Maintain process efficiency and accuracy under pressure.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Economics, Accounting, or related field).
1+ years of experience in AR/Billing or a related accounting function.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, etc.).
Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills with a professional and customer-focused approach.
AIA billing/construction industry experience is a plus, but not required.
NetSuite experience preferred, but not required.
Hungry and eager to learn-this role is designed for someone looking to grow into a more senior accounting position.
Comfortable with high-volume invoicing and interacting with customers.
Flexible and adaptable-able to pivot between different projects seamlessly.
Team player who is willing to contribute and collaborate with a small AR team.
