Job summary

Ledgent is seeking a temporary-to-hire accounts receivable/collections specialist in Ontario. This 100% onsite role offers a reliable schedule, M-F 8 am–4:45 pm, and an hourly rate of $21–$23.

Responsibilities include contacting customers, negotiating repayment plans, and maintaining accurate records while ensuring policy compliance. Candidates with 1–3 years in collections or AR are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of collection strategies and payment negotiations.

• Ensure compliance with policies and regulations during collection.
• Identify accounts for escalation or legal action and document process.
• Assist with preparation of write-offs or bad debt recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively contact customers regarding overdue invoices through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
• Negotiate payment plans or arrangements to resolve outstanding balances while maintaining customer relationships.
• Monitor and manage accounts receivable aging reports to prioritize collection efforts.
• Investigate and resolve disputes or discrepancies related to billing, payments, or account balances.
• Maintain detailed and accurate records of all collection activities, communications, and account updates.
• Prepare and distribute reports on collection status, accounts at risk, and progress toward recovery targets.
• Collaborate with internal departments, such as sales and customer service, to address client inquiries and prevent future issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual terms, and relevant regulations during the collection process.
• Identify accounts requiring escalation or legal action and provide necessary documentation for further action.
• Assist with the preparation of write-offs or bad debt recommendations as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Strong understanding of collection strategies, payment negotiations, and credit risk management.
