Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounts Receivable & Accounts Payable Associate for our Miami, FL location. The role focuses on accurate AR processing, including applying customer payments and resolving issues, with peak support for AP.

The position requires strong data entry, reconciliation, and communication skills, in a hybrid environment. The role offers a stable contract position with a comprehensive benefits package once permanent, and responsibilities span receivable/payable workflows,

Qualifications

• Two to four years of accounting or finance experience.
• At least two years in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Strong data entry accuracy and speed.
• Experience processing invoices, debits/credits, and reconciliations.
• Experience with AR, collections, and AP functions.
• Familiarity with Nexsure and/or AMS360 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Accurately apply customer payments to accounts.
• Process and deposit mailed checks with proper documentation.
• Prepare and send daily Positive Pay reports to Treasury.
• Manage EPAY batch processing with Finance teams.
• Track and follow up on checks older than 30 days.
• Research payment discrepancies and unapplied cash.
• Record commission payments from carriers timely.
• Coordinate with carriers for missing commission statements.
• Generate and download carrier and retail agent statements.
• Mail commission checks to retail agents with proper records.
• Maintain banking details and W-9s for commission payments.
• Support accounts payable during peak periods.
• Ensure GL integrity for receivable and payable entries.
• Adhere to cash handling and disbursement controls.
• Collaborate with Finance, Collections, and Accounting teams.
• Handle multiple tasks accurately in a fast-paced environment.
