Job summary

HR Business Partners, Inc. in Minneapolis, MN is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist (AR/AP & General Ledger) to own essential accounting functions in a growing professional services firm.

The role rewards precision, independence, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Key duties include AR support, vendor invoicing and payments, GL entries, reconciliations, month-end and year-end close, and financial reporting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional bookkeeping or accounting experience with AP, GL, and reconciliations.
• Associate degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Expert level QuickBooks Online proficiency with journal entries, GL management, reconciliations, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Intermediate Excel proficiency with formulas and lookups for reconciliations.
• Experience with month-end and year-end closing, cash flow reporting, sales tax compliance, and inventory accounting.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and manage vendor payments.

Responsibilities

• Investiagte and resolve customer billing discrepancies and payment issues.
• Prepare customer statements, credit memos, and adjustments.
• Process vendor invoices, match POs, and perform payments per controls.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain confidential financial records and organized files.
• Assist month-end and year-end closing and provide reports for management.
• Support cross-functional teams to resolve financial discrepancies.
