Job summary

Avidex in Cary, NC is seeking an Accountant - Accounts Receivable (AR) to join the Finance team. The role combines project billing with core accounting duties, including month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting to support cash flow.

You will collaborate with project teams and operations to ensure accurate invoicing, timely collections, and adherence to GAAP, while supporting internal controls, audits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
• 2+ years of accounting, project billing, accounts receivable, or related experience; construction/project-based billing preferred.
• GAAP knowledge and application.
• Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process monthly project billings, revisions, and customer invoices in line with contracts.
• Develop and maintain SOVs for AIA billing on applicable projects.
• Collaborate with project administration and operations to ensure billings reflect project progress and contract terms.
• Review unbilled/underbilled balances and maintain balance sheet accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies with project teams.
• Support close activities with journal entries and reconciliations.
