Job summary

Big Blue Swim School is seeking a Shift Leader at the Sandy Plains location in Marietta, GA. The role combines operational support, customer service, aquatics oversight, and hands-on facility duties in a dynamic environment.

You will work with instructors, deck staff, and front desk teams, leading safety and service standards while stepping into instructional or front desk tasks as needed. Prior leadership experience and flexiblity to work evenings/weekends are preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lead and motivate teams in a fast-paced setting.
• Flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain lifeguard certification if needed.
• Completion of Big Blue Swim School training programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist managers in daily shift operations for instructors, deck support, and front desk teams.
• Lead pre-shift meetings and reinforce safety, teaching standards, and customer service expectations.
• Step into swim instruction, deck support, or front desk tasks as needed.
• Monitor pool deck safety, swimmer evaluations, lesson flow, and facility readiness.
• Perform opening/closing procedures, water testing, and operational documentation.
• Ensure the facility remains clean, organized, and guest-ready.
• Support a positive experience for families and swimmers and maintain operational flow.
• Respond to emergencies and uphold safety and standards.
• Ensure staff are where they need to be and support daily facility operation.
