Job summary

The YMCA of Metro North's Melrose Family YMCA seeks an Assistant Aquatics Director to support the Aquatics Director with program delivery and administrative tasks. This full-time role supervises staff, ensures safety, and develops high-quality aquatic programs for members.

Responsibilities include staffing, pool operations, training lifeguards, scheduling classes, managing budgets, and collaborating with the leadership team. Evening and weekend shifts are required to meet community needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.
• One to two years related experience preferred; for example, as an aquatics coordinator or supervisor.
• Minimum age of 21
• Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: CPR, First Aid, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens.
• Lifeguard Certified
• Certified Pool Operator Certification within 120 days of employment.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives.
• Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
• Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all health and safety regulations.
• Conducts and ensures proper maintenance of pools and schedules pool facilities.
• Supervises aquatic program activities to meet YMCA objectives and monitor staff performance.
• Develops and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives.
• Collaborates with all YMCA of Metro North aquatics leadership.
