Job summary

The incumbent will model the YMCA mission, coordinate trainings, supervise staff, and collaborate with the Aquatic Director to develop a cohesive team and robust community programs.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ years old with 2 years supervisory experience.
• Certified in First Aid, CPR for Professional Rescuer, Lifeguarding, O2, and AED.
• Lifeguard Trainer, WSI or YSI recommended at hire or within 1 year.
• Ability to conduct, record and analyze in-services and drills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety guidelines are strictly adhered to.
• Assist in developing quality aquatic programs for all ages and levels.
• Oversee pool cleaning schedule for facilities, including outdoor seasonal sites.
• Open/close outdoor facilities and supervise facilities as assigned.
• Coordinate trainings for safety and risk management; maintain records.
• Provide training and reviews for staff and volunteers via consultations and clinics.
• Share responsibility for safety and well-being of participants with Aquatic Director.
• Coordinate swimming instruction per National YMCA Aquatic Program guidelines.
