Job summary

YMCA of Upper Palmetto is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to manage the operations and programs of the Aquatics department, aligned with our Christian mission. You will supervise staff, develop member relationships, expand program development, and boost member retention.

Responsibilities include scheduling lifeguards and instructors, providing training, ensuring safety according to YMCA guidelines, and promoting healthy water exercise programs while engaging with the community and maintaining

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in lifeguarding, swim instruction, and water aerobics group classes.
• Current certifications for lifeguarding, swim lesson instructor, and water aerobics instructor.
• Willing to teach 3+ water aerobics classes per week and pursue additional certifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to lead staff and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage operations of the Aquatics department and supervise staff.
• Provide training programs for personnel and conduct monthly in-service training.
• Schedule staff for lifeguards, swim instructors, and water aerobics instructors.
• Promote member engagement and retention through quality programs.
• Ensure safety guidelines are followed and equipment is maintained.
