Job summary

YMCA of Central Florida is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to assist with supervision of aquatics staff and programming at the Family Center. You will support member participation, retention, and safety while delivering high-quality aquatic classes and events.

Under the Aquatics Director, you will lead staff, schedule programs, ensure certifications, coordinate pool inspections and maintenance, and promote community engagement through the Family Center and YMCA events.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years aquatics or customer service experience.
• YMCA aquatics or operations experience a plus.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Current Lifeguard certification required; YMCA certification preferred.
• YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor certification within 60 days.
• Pool Operator certification required on location.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of aquatic programs including lap swimming, swim lessons, swim team and group exercise.
• Provide classes that promote retention of existing members and engage new members.
• Assist in the supervision of department staff and ensure safety and policy compliance.
• Lead staff to support aquatic initiatives to achieve retention goals.
• Perform lifeguarding duties, swim lesson instruction and coaching as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate aquatic schedules and procedures to maximize member connections.
