Job summary

YMCA of Columbia Willamette is seeking an Aquatic Coordinator to lead lifeguards, swim instructors, and aquatics staff. You will recruit, train, and supervise a dynamic team while ensuring safety and adherence to YMCA policies.

Responsibilities include planning in-service trainings, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with the aquatics budget under the Aquatics Director. The role offers part-time hours, growth opportunities, and a strong community impact.

Qualifications

• Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard certification or obtain within 30 days.
• CPR/AED & First Aid certification required or obtained within 30 days.
• YMCA Leader certification preferred but not mandatory.
• Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred.
• CPO/AFO certification preferred.
• YMCA Team-Leader certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, and supervise aquatics staff and volunteers.
• Lead in-service training and drills to keep skills current.
• Maintain records for pool usage, chemical readings, and staff certifications.
• Assist with maintenance duties in pump/chemical room.
• Develop and manage aquatics department budget under director guidance.
• Plan and run special aquatics events on- or off-site.
• Model positive behavior for youth and uphold YMCA standards.
