Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Boston is seeking an Association Lifeguard Instructor to lead lifesaving and aquatics safety training at the Association Office. You will certify staff in Lifeguarding, Swim Instructor, CPR, First Aid and Oxygen, under supervision of the VP of Operations.

Must hold YMCA LGI, YSL/T and ASHI Instructor certs, have a HS diploma, and be able to travel locally. Part-time schedule with competitive hourly compensation is offered, plus YMCA membership perks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or higher.
• Must hold YMCA LGI, YMCA YSL/T and ASHI Instructor certifications.
• Participate in all safety drills and trainings.
• Lead lifeguard and lifesaving courses confidently.
• Ability to lift 30+ pounds independently.
• Willing to travel locally and pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

• Meets with Aquatics employees early in employment for certification.
• Assembles classroom to meet required guidelines.
• Instructs YMCA training courses per parameters.
• Issues and collects required paperwork per association procedures.
• Issues certification cards per policies.
• Adheres to pool rules and MA DPH requirements.
• Activates center and pool EAP when needed.
• Performs CPR, First Aid and Oxygen as needed.
