Lake Superior YMCA seeks a part-time Aquatics Lead for the Downtown Duluth branch to deliver high-quality swim lessons and supervise on-deck staff. Responsibilities include on-deck instruction, lifeguard duties as needed, and ensuring a safe, welcoming aquatic environment for participants of all ages.

The role supports community programs and involves coordinating lessons and staff scheduling. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year in aquatics, YMCA Swim Instructor v6, and CPR/AED/First Aid

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in aquatics programming.
• Certifications: YMCA Swim Instructor v6, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and First Aid.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups and use Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-deck coverage as a swim instructor and safety training instructor.
• Supervise aquatics staff and volunteers; evaluate performance.
• Maintain a safe, engaging environment and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Assist with coordinating swim lessons and scheduling staff.
• Collaborate with the Director to meet department goals.
