Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard Lead to oversee pool safety and guard supervision. You will enforce rules, supervise daily operations, perform chemical tests, and coordinate with the Aquatics Director on drills and audits.

The role requires strong leadership, reliability, and the ability to respond promptly to emergencies to maintain a safe, engaging environment for members and staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years and lifeguard experience.
• Current lifeguard certification and able to obtain YMCA lifeguard certification within 30 days.
• Ability to enforce safety rules and perform rescues per YMCA standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe swimming conditions and supervise lifeguards during shift.
• Enforce pool rules, test water quality, and conduct safety checks daily.
• Lead aquatics drills, audits, and staff trainings with the Aquatics Director.
• Provide leadership and guidance to lifeguards on duty.
