Job summary

South Shore YMCA seeks an Aquatics Director to lead the Emilson Branch Aquatics Department, overseeing two indoor pools, two outdoor pools, and a whirlpool. This role requires strategic leadership, staffing oversight, and program development to deliver high-quality, member-focused aquatic experiences.

The Director collaborates with Facilities, Association Aquatics leadership, and branch teams to ensure safety, efficiency, and growth while developing future leaders and aligning with the YMCA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; significant leadership experience may substitute.
• 3+ years leadership in Aquatics, operations, or related field.
• Experience supervising both full-time and part-time staff.
• Ability to manage a large operation with varying priorities.
• Strong communication, organization, and planning skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and strategic direction for Emilson Aquatics programming.
• Develop and grow high-quality Aquatics programs based on needs and trends.
• Recruit, train, supervise, and retain Aquatics staff; conduct coaching.
• Manage budget, payroll, and departmental financial performance.
• Ensure safety, facility readiness, and compliance with standards.
• Collaborate with branch leadership and other departments for programming.
