Job summary

Hampton Family YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Director to develop and implement aquatics programs for all ages, ensuring a safe environment. You will work closely with center leaders to welcome and engage members, maintain certifications, and manage the aquatics budget and staff.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, 2+ years in pool management, YMCA certifications, and CPR/First Aid training. You will lead program development and fundraising efforts to support community health and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience in pool management and aquatics programming.
• YMCA certifications (or Red Cross) in Lifeguarding, Lifeguard Instructor, and YMCA Swimming Instructor; Trainer level preferred.
• Must obtain Pool Operator certification within six months of employment.
• Ability to interact with people from all backgrounds and ages.
• Ability to recruit, hire, certify and supervise staff.
• CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification; complete required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission and goals of the YMCA.
• Lead aquatics programs for youth through seniors and ensure a safe environment.
• Develop, promote and schedule monthly aquatics activities and events.
• Maintain current certifications and facility health codes; supervise staff.
• Lead staff meetings, provide coaching, and manage performance.
• Participate in center leadership activities and risk management.
