Job summary

YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking an engaged aquatics leader to develop and manage high-quality swim lessons, water fitness classes, and swim team activities. You will supervise staff, ensure safety protocols, and coordinate program delivery across branches.

You will deliver lifeguarding, CPR/First Aid and Water Safety Instructor trainings, recruit volunteers, and support fundraising efforts while maintaining strong community relations.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or equivalent; 2–3 years related experience if no degree.
• Minimum of three years supervision/leadership experience.
• Certifications: CPO required; Lifeguarding and WRSSI preferred; CPR/First Aid within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet community needs and YMCA objectives.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers.
• Monitors pool operations and ensures health, safety and sanitation standards are met.
• Delivers lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
• Develops and schedules aquatics programs and assists marketing of programs.
• Contributes to budgets and fundraising activities and maintains records.
