Job summary

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking an Aquatics Director for the Alpharetta area to lead lifeguard operations, safety, and pool maintenance. You will hire, train, and supervise staff, monitor compliance with health regulations, and manage scheduling and budgets to support member programs.

The role requires a degree in exercise science or related field and 2+ years in aquatics (or 4+ years) with supervisory experience. Lifeguard certification and CPO are mandatory, ASHI CPR Instructor preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in exercise science, physical education, psychology, or related field.
• 2+ years in aquatics OR 4+ years in aquatics, plus supervisory responsibilities.
• Lifeguard Certification and Certified Pool Operator credentials required.
• Ability to pass pre-employment background and health checks.

Responsibilities

• Hire, schedule, train, and develop lifeguard staff.
• Monitor pool operations, maintain chemical levels, and safety standards.
• Conduct trainings (Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR) and ensure certifications are current.
• Manage staff payroll, budgets, and daily operations.
