Job summary

YMCA of Metro Atlanta in Kennesaw, GA is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to oversee pool operations, ensure patron safety, maintain the pool per Aquatics Department and Georgia Health Department standards, and manage staff schedules. Responsibilities include developing aquatic programming, enforcing rules, training staff, recording incidents, and providing exceptional member service.

Requirements: Associate degree or 1+ year aquatics experience with lifeguard certification, CPO within 6 months,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Lifeguard certification at minimum.
• Certified Pool Operator (within 6 months of hire).
• AED and First Aid/CPR training within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain staff schedules for all shifts including opening and closing responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain aquatic programming and calendars.
• Ensure day-to-day compliance with programs and certification standards.
• Enforce YMCA and department rules; monitor pool chemical balance.
• Train staff in emergency procedures and policies; conduct in-services.
• Maintain constant surveillance of the water and deck; complete incident reports promptly.
