Job summary

Serenity Aquarium & Aviary Services is seeking an entry-level service technician to support aquatic and avian environments in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. The role requires basic hand tools, ability to lift and maneuver supplies, and a flexible part-time schedule.

Travel within a 150-mile radius of Augusta, ME is required. The position offers hourly pay starting at $25 with a flexible schedule and potential for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with aquatic and/or avian environments is preferred.
• Able to lift 50 lb bags and maneuver totes.
• Willingness to travel within the service area (up to 150 miles from Augusta, ME).
• Capable of reading and following instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain aquariums and aviaries in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.
• Manage scheduling and prioritize tasks for efficiency.
• Communicate product and service offerings to customers.
• Respond to calls, emails, and faxes to meet customer needs.
• Assist with stocking and moving supplies as required.
• Record and report on service visits and outcomes.
• Ensure safety and professional appearance while on site.
• Coordinate with clients to plan service cycles and follow up on needs.

Our customers look to us to create a very serene and engaging environment for their residents/customers to enjoy. This particular role will primarily be servicing of aquariums and aviaries in nursing homes and assisted livings facilities. This is an entry level position that requires basic knowledge of hand tools and assembly. Lifting, bending, and some physical demands are involved in the position. This is a part-time remote position. Work is typically done during business hours of 8am to 7pm but is flexible. Hours will vary from month to month but will average around 5-10 hours a month. Will vary depending on what is due.

*Travel in a 150 mile radius of Augusta, ME will be required.
(Mileage reimbursement is paid while driving. Hourly Wage is not paid during driving)

*Due to work being performed in long term care homes, Covid-19 vaccine or masking/goggles may be required.

Storing 50# bags of bedding and seed along with 2-3 27 gallon totes of supplies will be required for the job.

• Must have the ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to read and write in English.
• Preference given to candidates with mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to be flexible with schedule and job responsibilities.
• Able to travel in your service area radius
• Heavy lifting and maneuvering is required.
• Flexibility is a must!
• High School education is preferred.
• Driver's License required

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
