Job summary

Serenity Aquarium & Aviary Services in Harrisburg is seeking an entry-level service technician to maintain aquariums and aviaries in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. This particular role will primarily be servicing of aquariums and aviaries in nursing homes and assisted livings facilities. This is an entry level position that requires basic knowledge of hand tools and assembly. heavy lifting, bending, and many physical demands are involved in the position. This is a part-time position. Work is typically done during business hours of 8am to 7pm but is flexible. Hours will vary from month to month but will average around 10-20 hours a month.

Travel in a 150 mile radius of Harrisburg, PA will be required.

Orbisonia, PA (75 miles) and Honey Brook, PA (67 miles)

(Mileage reimbursement is paid while driving. Hourly Wage is not paid during driving)

Due to work being performed in long term care homes, masking/goggles may be required.

Storing 50# bags of bedding and seed along with 2-4 27 gallon totes of supplies will be required for the job.

Required education, skills, abilities, and experience

• Experience in fish keeping and or bird keeping preferred
• Great attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to continually adjust priorities to match the business need.
• Strong work ethic along with being on time and maintaining good attendance.
• Ability to successfully communicate and contribute in a team oriented environment.
• Must have the ability to comprehend and follow instructions and to read and write in English.
• Preference given to candidates with mechanical aptitude.
• Willingness to be flexible with schedule and job responsibilities.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
