Job summary

MEI is seeking a Training Instructor to design and deliver technical, skill-based training for new hires, apprentices, and incumbent staff. You will lead the Apprenticeship Training Program, coordinate related initiatives, and collaborate with management to build programs and mentorship systems.

You will identify training needs, develop or source materials, and ensure records compliance across regional offices, including OJT, BKMs, and candidate evaluations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Five years of experience as an intermediate level Rigger, Machinery Mover, Construction Rigger, or similar role.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and CDL training requirements.
• Experience delivering training programs and maintaining materials and records.
• Proficient with MS Office including PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel on Windows.
• Strong organization, planning, adaptability and customer-focused mindset.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to teach groups.
• Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel locally between regional offices.

Responsibilities

• Oversee apprenticeship training initiative; pair mentors with mentees and monitor progress.
• Manage training projects and regional office programs; assess effectiveness.
• Oversee skill development training for legacy and incumbent employees; evaluate candidates for entry into programs.
• Perform gap analyses to identify development needs and paths.
• Produce or obtain training materials; deliver training to individuals or groups; oversee field training programs.
• Maintain training records for each regional office with signatures and audit readiness.
• Evaluate student progress, milestones, and program effectiveness against standards.
• Attend trade shows and continued education to maintain SME affiliation and knowledge.
• Evaluate and interview new hires for suitability to enter training programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
