Job summary

MEI Industrial Solutions is seeking a Training Instructor in Houston, TX to design and deliver technical training for new hires, apprentices, and incumbents. You will coordinate the MEI Apprenticeship Training Program, oversee related mentorship and on-the-job training, and collaborate with Training Directors and Talent Development Managers to build scalable programs.

Responsibilities include evaluating progress, developing materials, and maintaining training records for audits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor degree preferred in Education, Training, HR, or related field.
• 5 years experience in intermediate level rigging, machinery moving, or similar roles.
• Familiar with DOT regulations and CDL training programs.
• Experience delivering training programs and curriculums and maintaining related records.
• Proficient with MS Office (PowerPoint/Outlook/Excel) on Windows.
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee apprenticeship training initiative and mentor pairing; follow-up activities.
• Manage training projects for regional office needs and evaluate programs.
• Oversee skill development training for legacy and incumbent employees.
• Perform gap analyses to determine development paths.
• Produce training materials and presentations; deliver group or individual training.
• Maintain training records compliant with audits; track progress and milestones.
• Attend trade shows and training opportunities to maintain SME affiliation.
• Evaluate and interview new hires for training entry suitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
