A mechanical and electrical service provider is seeking an Apprentice Service Technician in Grover Beach, California. This entry-level role involves assisting with HVAC installations and maintenance, requiring a high school diploma and strong communication skills. The position has a compensation range of $24.56 to $54.51 per hour. Applicants must be enrolled in an apprenticeship program and able to perform physical tasks safely.

Qualifications

Job Summary

• Knowledge of how HVAC equipment
• Responsible for assisting in assembling, installing, servicing and repairing customer heating, air conditioning and other HVAC equipment.
• Retrofit installations, ductwork, refrigeration piping, and wiring
• Installation and change-outs of ductwork on commercial
• Self‑motivated and work with little supervision.
• Maintain safe work practices in support of OSHA Health & Safety and NFPA 70e standards.

Job Specifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Enrolled in an Apprenticeship program.
• Entry level experience in maintaining and working with HVAC equipment.
• Strong oral and written communication required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and perform duties with supervision in isolated areas.
• Knowledge and experience in the proper use and safe operation of hand tools, equipment and testing devices necessary to perform all work assignments.
• Valid Vehicle Operators license
• Ability to stand, sit or squat for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift, move and carry material up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb stairs, ladders and work at extended heights.
• Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). i.e. but not limited to, Dust mask, gloves, eye protection and hearing protection.
• Working knowledge of desktop computers and Internet based programs to perform required annual training.
• Ability to wear a company uniform and maintain a neat personal appearance.
• This position will require a background check and drug screening.
