Join to apply for the Apprentice Service Technician role at Bramco Inc.

Job Summary: The technician will perform repair work on a wide variety of equipment, ranging from complete machine overhauls to minor repairs such as fixing leaks, changing fluids and filters. Other repairs may include rebuilding components such as engines, transmissions, hydraulic cylinders, and hydraulic pumps. Some locations have test equipment to dyno test engines, hydraulic pumps, and transmissions. Installations may include undercarriage on track machines, attachments on plumbing excavators for hammers or scalers, quick coupler attachments on loaders, excavators, and backhoes.

Job Responsibilities

1. Participate in and successfully complete the apprenticeship program, which includes week-long training sessions and on-the-job training over 24 months.
2. Troubleshoot equipment problems and diagnose failures.
3. Perform diagnostic functions, check pressures, voltages, and locate sources of noise or vibration.
4. Disassemble machines, order parts, make repairs, reassemble, and verify repairs by checking machine operation, ensuring no leaks, and confirming the problem is fixed.
5. Clean parts, scrape gaskets, and prepare for assembly.
6. Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work environment.
7. Travel to job sites and vendor training sessions as needed.

Job Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or equivalent; a 2-year technical degree or military training is preferred.
2. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the heavy equipment industry or a related field.
3. Excellent written and oral communication skills and basic math skills.
4. Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and diagnostic software from manufacturers.
5. Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions.
6. Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, stoop, kneel, push, pull, twist, and work at heights of 15 feet.
7. Ability to work in all weather conditions and with limited supervision.
8. Maintain excellent customer service skills.
9. Ability to pass background, physical, and drug screens.
