Join Our Team as a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician Apprentice!

Service First Fire Sprinkler in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Fire Sprinkler Service Technician Apprentice. As a crucial member of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in the field. Fire Sprinkler Service Technician Apprentices are enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist in servicing and inspecting backflows, standpipes, AFL, fire pumps, wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems
  • Inspect, maintain, and repair fire sprinkler equipment and systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards
  • Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with fire sprinkler systems
  • Learn to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings
  • Maintain good rapport with customers
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records in a timely manner
  • Respond to service calls, including answering phone calls, communicating any emergency service calls to Service Manager, and handling emergency service calls when needed
  • Able to work under pressure and as part of a team
  • Maintain uniform and tools
  • Participate in on-the-job training to develop technical skills and industry knowledge
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Able to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
  • Travel, including overnights

    Preferred:

  • NICET I in Service and Repair
  • OSHA 10-Hour Certified
  • Fire Pump experience
  • ABPA backflow license
  • 1 year fire sprinkler fitter experience
