If you enjoy early mornings, working with your hands, and value high-quality fresh meat products, our program may be a great fit for you. An apprentice is someone who works to learn the trade, specifically meat cutting.
This is a 36-week program where individuals passionate about learning meat cutting work alongside experienced managers, sausage makers, chicken cutters, and beef cutters. After completion, apprentices are evaluated; if certified, they receive a raise and may be placed into a permanent position or fill shifts across multiple stores until a position is available.
This position mentors individuals interested in becoming meat cutters, teaching Harmons' standards and expectations. The person will learn to ensure the quality, freshness, safety, and profitability of our fresh cut meat products and assist in preparing beef, pork, chicken, and turkey products.

Preferred knowledge, skills, and abilities:
The work environment is generally safe and comfortable, with exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions. Tasks may require grasping, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, twisting, crouching, reaching, repetitive motions, and coordination. Standing, walking, and bending are required, with the ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
