Job Summary

Our Meat Cutter Apprentices ensure that our guests receive the best and most delicious products, presented according to their requirements. In addition to providing excellent guest service and supporting the Meat Lead, you'll promote guest loyalty and contribute to the store's growth and success. As a member of our Meat Team, your primary responsibility will be to cut meat and other products for sale, ensuring our customers receive the freshest products possible. You'll create and maintain an exemplary customer service environment to build lifelong relationships by understanding and exceeding customer needs. To succeed in this position, you should be a team player, eager to support your colleagues, motivated to grow into leadership roles, and capable of inspiring those around you.

Job Description

• Experience Required: 0 to 6 months
• Experience Desired: Prior experience in the field or related field
• Education Desired: No High School diploma required
• Education Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent; Vocational/Technical
• Lifting Requirement: Up to 50 pounds
• Age Requirement: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

• Learn to cut meat for sale by removing products from the cooler and cutting them into smaller sizes for packaging.
• Learn to make ground meat by grinding coarse meat and tray it for sale.
• Accurately record and assist in preparing special orders to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in maintaining the efficiency of the meat cooler and freezer by unloading deliveries.
• Learn all aspects of code dating and ensure proper rotation of stock.
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Wrap meat and maintain the meat case.
• Check and rotate product code dates to ensure guest safety.
• Provide products and services that meet customer requirements and adhere to company principles and service standards.
• Prioritize safety in all work activities for team members, guests, and products.
• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting customers, fulfilling orders, and making shopping suggestions.
• Share food knowledge and promote a learning environment among team members and customers.
• Adopt and retain current work methods and safety guidelines.
• Handle products and equipment properly to ensure safety and food safety standards.
• Use suggestive selling techniques to enhance sales.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Promote a diverse, inclusive, and respectful environment for all stakeholders.
