Job description

Image Orthodontics is a fast-paced and busy orthodontic office located in San Francisco, CA. We not only change your smile – we transform your life. Our Westborough office is hiring for a full-time Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant (DA/OA). As DA/OA, you will provide essential support to our dental and orthodontic teams, ensuring that patient care is delivered efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong desire to help patients maintain optimal oral health.

Schedule and Locations

  • Full-Time Position
  • Alternative Work Schedule (4/10 Schedule)
  • Office is open Monday-Friday and some Saturdays

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Completion of a Dental Assistant program or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Radiology certification (where applicable) is a plus.
  • Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or Orthodontic Assistant preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in using dental software and electronic health records.

Job Responsibilities Include

  • Assist dentists/orthodontists during examinations and procedures, including bonding, adjustments, and retainer fittings.
  • Ensure the sterilization of instruments and dental equipment in compliance with safety and health regulations.
  • Take and develop X-rays as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist in updating treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, preventive care techniques, and orthodontics treatment plans and care instructions.
  • Manage patient scheduling, including appointment reminders and follow-up calls.
  • Ensure the office is clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Take orthodontic impressions and assist in the fabrication of retainers and other devices.
  • Monitor patient progress and ensure timely follow-up visits.
