Job description

Image Orthodontics in Pleasanton, CA is a leading orthodontic practice committed to providing high-quality dental care in a warm and friendly environment. Our team of dedicated professionals is passionate about oral health and patient satisfaction. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Registered Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant to join our team.

As a Registered Dental Assistant/Orthodontic Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our orthodontic team by assisting in the delivery of exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the orthodontist during a variety of treatment procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols.
  • Take and develop x-rays as directed by the orthodontist.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, post-operative care, and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
  • Order and manage dental supplies, ensuring that the office remains well-stocked and organized.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support administrative duties as needed, including answering phones and greeting patients
  • Collaborate with the dental team to improve patient flow and the overall patient experience.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
  • Valid RDA or OA license and certification in CPR and other relevant dental certifications as required by law.
  • Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant
  • Knowledge of dental terminology, procedures, and patient care protocols.
  • Proficient in taking digital radiographs and familiar with dental software systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong focus on patient care.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
