A leading care center in Tiburon seeks a Dietary Manager to oversee food preparation and dietary services. The role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with health regulations, and conducting nutritional assessments for residents. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and experience in a dietary department, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Oversee and participate in the preparation and service of food that is safe, appetizing, and meets residents' needs according to physician orders and approved menus. Manage costs and work within budget guidelines. Plan and assist in holiday and special meal preparations and events.
Supervise all dietary functions and personnel, including hiring, orientation, training, discipline, and termination when necessary. Ensure proper storage and handling of food and supplies in compliance with current regulations. Process diet orders and updates from nursing staff and keep diet cards current.
Maintain adequate staffing for dietary services, assess residents' food preferences and allergies, and prepare staff schedules. Keep kitchen and storage areas safe, clean, and sanitary. Order food and supplies, and communicate menu changes to the dietitian. Participate in QA and IDT meetings as assigned.
Inspect dietary areas regularly for safety and sanitation. Provide in-service education for dietary staff, investigate and address on-the-job injuries, and ensure compliance with all regulations. Coordinate dietary services with nursing and activities departments. Conduct monthly nutritional assessments for residents at risk and promote quality food service during resident visits.
Assist in supervising dietary staff and managing departmental operations.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, talking, smelling, and tasting. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.
