Job summary

Utility Lines Construction Services seeks an Overhead Distribution Apprentice Lineperson to support the construction and maintenance of overhead distribution lines and equipment. This entry-level role assists linepersons from the ground and climbs to perform required tasks, while following strict safety guidelines and regional policies.

The position involves frequent travel for storm work as needed and requires the ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Safely enter and exit aerial device and bucket/derrick trucks.
• Effectively cover and complete work on energized lines and equipment.
• Work long hours and overtime during holidays, emergencies, weekends, etc.

Responsibilities

• Clears work area and maintains safe jobsite conditions.
• Assists with assembling material and supports lineperson from ground.
• Climbs wooden poles to perform duties.
• Excavates to assist in installation of structures or cable.
• Communicates work details to property owners as needed.
• Performs safety training per regional guidelines.
