Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking an entry level Apprentice Lineman C to safely perform skilled electrical work in the construction, repair, maintenance, storm restoration and operation of distribution systems, both overhead and underground. The work involves learning apprenticeship-type skills and procedures to advance toward journeyman lineman.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Lineman training school preferred.
• Valid CDL-B license required.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Willingness to travel on short notice.
• Ability to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Climb poles or use bucket trucks to access equipment at heights.
• Safely construct, maintain, and repair overhead and underground distribution systems.
• Verify proper grounding of trucks.
• Direct traffic around work zones and keep unauthorized people away.
• Splice cables and perform terminations using hand tools.
• Dig holes and set poles, using cranes and power equipment.
