Apple Rehab West Haven, located at 308 Savin Avenue, West Haven, CT, seeks per diem Appointment Companion CNAs to cover resident appointment shifts and floor shifts as needed. Starting pay is $21.22 per hour, with weekend shifts required monthly.

The role involves assisting residents with bathing, grooming, and daily activities, documenting care, and reporting changes to the supervisor. Join a family-like team in a community-focused facility that values compassionate care and reliability.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CNA certification in good standing.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Responsabilités

• Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use.
• Documents personal care given according to facility policies.
• Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, taking measurements (temperature, weight, pulse, respiration).
• Observes and reports changes in residents’ condition to supervisor, including skin breakdowns.
• Responds to emergencies calmly, answers call lights, and records charting entries.

Job Opportunity: Appointment Companion - CNA Certified Nursing Assistant

Description

Looking for CNA's who are interested in picking up resident appointment shifts per diem. CNA's are welcome to pickup floor shifts as well.

Starting Pay

Responsibilities

Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use, positioning in and out of bed. C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant documents personal care given according to facility policies. Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, measures and records temperature, weight, pulse and respiration. C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant observes and reports to supervisor changes in residents’ condition, including any skin breakdowns. Reports immediately all accidents or injuries. Records all necessary charting entries. Answers all call lights regardless of assignment. Responds to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications

• Must hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse as per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following oral and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Additional Expectations

Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly to meet requirements.
