Job summary

Apple Rehab West Haven is seeking a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our caring team at 308 Savin Avenue in West Haven, CT. Join a family-oriented, community-focused facility known for compassionate care and a supportive staff culture.

Starting pay is $20/hour with differential of $5.00/hour for shifts outside scheduled hours. Available shifts: 7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a; Per diem welcome. Benefits include health insurance, PTO, holidays, and more.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CNA certification in good standing.
• No history of patient/resident abuse per State Registry.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, excellent follow-through, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Team player with good cooperation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude towards residents and their support networks.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents in bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use.
• C.N.A. documents personal care given according to facility policies and performs nursing functions as directed.
• Observes and reports changes in residents’ condition, including skin breakdowns; reports accidents or injuries.
• Records all necessary charting entries and answers call lights promptly; responds calmly to emergencies.

Responsibilities:

Assists residents in daily bathing, grooming, dental care, bowel and bladder functions, dressing, walking and wheelchair use, positioning in and out of bed. C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant documents personal care given according to facility policies. Provides nursing functions as directed including perineal care, making beds, turning residents, measures and records temperature, weight, pulse and respiration. C.N.A. Certified Nurse’s Assistant observes and reports to supervisor changes in residents’ condition, including any skin breakdowns. Reports immediately all accidents or injuries. Records all necessary charting entries. Answers all call lights regardless of assignment. Responds to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Must hold current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing.

Additional Expectations:

Per diem staff are expected to fulfill (2) weekend shifts monthly to meet requirements.
