Job summary

Amazon's Prime Air Flight Sciences Vehicle Design & Test team is seeking an Applied Scientist to help rapidly configure, design, analyze, prototype, and test innovative drone vehicles. You will develop and maintain a suite of multidisciplinary optimization tools across all aircraft design disciplines to meet performance, reliability, operability, manufacturing, and cost requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, physics, with 7+ years of experience or equivalent.
• Experience with flight vehicle design, simulation, and development.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java or Perl.

Responsibilities

• Develop, improve, and maintain a suite of multidisciplinary optimization tools across aircraft design disciplines.
• Explore new drone vehicle designs in focused and wide design spaces to meet customer requirements.
• Prototype vehicle designs and support wind tunnel and other testing activities.
• Own the Flight Sciences assessments and analysis methods as the design progresses through development stages.
