Job summary

Amazon Prime Air is seeking an outstanding Applied Scientist to develop and verify drone systems models and flight physics models that underpin flight simulation, aircraft design, system verification and business decisions.

The role encompasses the end-to-end lifecycle of simulation models—from data gathering and model selection to training, interface development, and verification of model fidelity, with a broad, high-visibility impact on Prime Air’s mission and customer reachability.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree with 4+ years in science, tech, eng or related field.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related languages.
• Experience with flight vehicle simulation development, aircraft system identification or V&V.
• Solid understanding of software design principles.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end lifecycle of simulation models—from development to deployment and maintenance.
• Determine modeling approach and fidelity, gather input data, and coordinate data generation.
• Train models, develop and maintain software interfaces, and verify model accuracy.
• Design experiments to generate data and apply uncertainty quantification to validate fidelity.
