Job summary

Relativity is seeking a Senior Manager in Applied Science to lead a team expanding the aiR agentic harness for greater capability and reliability. You will drive end-to-end readiness of AI systems and guide architects, evaluations, and production monitoring to ensure dependable output.

You will recruit and mentor top talent, set ambitious technical standards, and collaborate with product, engineering, and legal teams to scale AI across complex legal datasets.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in computer science or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years in applied AI/ML, including at least 1 year as a people leader.
• Fluency with modern generative AI as part of larger systems and understanding of its limitations.
• Machine-learning rigor with data-driven evaluation, error analysis, and statistical thinking.
• Strong software engineering judgment and programming capability, plus ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of applied scientists: hire, coach, set direction, and develop people toward their best work.
• Set the technical and scientific bar; shape architectures, review designs and evaluations, and solve hard problems with the team.
• Own AI system readiness end-to-end from framing to evaluation, error analysis, and production monitoring.
• Choose the right problems and invest where impact is highest, from agentic assistants to large-scale review tasks.
• Partner with product, engineering, design, customer-facing teams, and legal experts to take ideas to production at scale.
• Communicate clearly to team, leadership, and customers—translate technical nuances into actionable decisions.
• Represent Relativity at industry conferences, events, and with customers.
