Job summary

SimVentions, Inc. is seeking an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD SLBM testing team on-site at NSWC-Dahlgren. You will design and execute automated and manual tests, map tests to requirements, and collaborate with developers and government customers to resolve defects.

A Secret clearance is required and U.S. citizenship is mandatory. BS in Applied Math or Applied/Engineering Physics is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in applied mathematics or applied physics for engineering projects.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing or equivalent education.
• Familiarity with reviewing C++ code.
• Experience using Linux systems.
• Ability to trace requirements to tests and manage artifacts.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to present to customers.
• Excellent teamwork with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write test plans, descriptions, and cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing across static, dynamic, integration, and system levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS, Jira, and similar tools.
• Identify and track software defects; collaborate with developers for resolution.
• Review peers’ test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface professionally with government customers daily.
• Occasionally present technical testing documentation.
