SimVentions seeks an Applied Mathematician or Applied Physicist to join the NSWCDD SLBM team at NSWC Dahlgren. You will design, execute, and maintain automated tests, ensuring traceability to requirements and collaboration with developers and government customers.

The role requires a BS in applied math or physics, 2+ years of related experience, and proficiency with Linux, C++, and test tools such as DOORS and Jira. On-site, US citizenship, and willingness to work at Dahlgren.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional applied mathematics or applied physics experience.
• 1+ years of software/systems testing experience or equivalent education.
• Familiarity reviewing C++ code; experience with Linux.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks.
• Write test plans, descriptions, and cases tied to requirements.
• Execute manual and automated testing at multiple levels.
• Perform requirements traceability using DOORS and Jira.
• Identify and track software defects; collaborate with developers.
• Review peers' test documentation and provide feedback.
• Participate in Agile Sprint meetings and CCB activities.
• Interface with government customers daily; present testing docs.
