Job summary

OpenAI is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to design, build, validate, launch, and operate agent enablement integrations across web apps, APIs, CLIs, and services. This hands-on, partner-facing role focuses on secure, production-ready integrations within the OpenAI stack.

Qualifications

4–6 years of professional software or AI engineering experience.
Experience in customer or partner-facing scoping and MVP delivery.
Proven ability to design and operate production APIs and developer platforms.

Responsibilities

Own the technical partner journey for priority agent enablement integrations—from use-case selection through architecture and rollout.
Write production code, build reference implementations and test harnesses for partner integrations.
Debug identity and agent workflows end to end, including OAuth/OIDC, token exchange, and credentials handling.
Review partner architectures for API contracts, permissions, consent, and data boundaries.
Turn findings from evaluations into concrete platform improvements.
