Job summary

OpenAI seeks an AI Deployment Engineer to design, build, and operate secure, agent-enabled integrations across web apps, APIs, CLIs, and developer tools. You will partner with engineering, product, design, legal, security, partnerships, and customers to translate complex identity and workflow requirements into production-ready solutions.

You will deliver production-ready code, reference implementations, and testing tools, while advocating secure authentication flows and scalable architectures

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional software or AI engineering experience.
• Experience building production full-stack applications or backend services.
• Experience with APIs, connectors, or developer platforms.
• Strong understanding of OAuth, authentication, and identity systems.
• Experience in customer-facing technical engineering roles.
• Knowledge of AI agents, MCP servers, CLIs, and integrations.
• Strong communication and architecture design skills.
• Ability to build secure, reliable production systems.

Responsibilities

• Own partner integrations from planning through production launch and ongoing support.
• Design secure authentication and authorization flows using OAuth and identity systems.
• Build production code, reference implementations, and testing tools.
• Create integration documentation, debugging tools, and developer guidance.
• Prototype architectures and evaluate technical trade-offs.
• Work with partner engineering teams throughout implementation.
• Identify reusable platform improvements from customer feedback.
• Support launch, rollout, and post-launch optimization.
