Groundswell is seeking an AI-enabled engineer who can translate business problems into technical strategy, own capabilities end to end, and deliver measurable value in client environments. You will balance innovative AI approaches with practical, governance-focused implementation while mentoring teammates and communicating clearly with executives and engineers.

This role requires strong Python/TypeScript/SQL skills, experiences with LLMs, and a clear eye for cost, latency, and accuracy

Qualifications

• 4+ years building and shipping production software.
• 1 year hands-on experience integrating large language models, including prompt engineering and retrieval-augmented generation.
• Owns capability end-to-end from ambiguity to production.
• Experience evaluating AI system quality with metrics and test sets.
• Strong programming in Python, TypeScript, or SQL across full stack.

Responsibilities

• Lead requirements conversations with business and technical stakeholders covering workflow and success criteria.
• Define technical approach and defend AI pattern choice (extraction, classification, summarization, retrieval, or agentic).
• Recommend non-AI solutions when appropriate; improve interfaces and processes.
• Define measurable success criteria before build and governance for deployment.
• Build complete capability with prompts, retrieval, APIs, data handling, error states, and UI.
