Job summary

Anthropic is seeking an Applied AI Architect for its Startups team to help founders architect innovative LLM solutions using the Claude Developer Platform. You will translate startup needs into technical architectures and guide evaluations and deployments, working closely with sales, product, and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes building credibility with founders, crafting evaluation frameworks, and communicating complex AI concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in technical customer-facing roles such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or founder-led sales.
• Experience with startups or high-growth technology companies; you understand velocity and constraints of early-stage companies.
• Strong builder credibility through software engineering or technical founder background; you speak the language of builders and earn trust.
• Deep technical proficiency with building and scaling AI products; knowledge of Claude capabilities.
• Hands-on experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications; context engineering and evaluation frameworks.
• Strong technical communication to translate AI concepts into actionable insights.
• Track record of selling technical products in competitive markets.
• Comfortable with Python and familiarity with common LLM frameworks, tools, and integration patterns.
• Passion for safe and societally beneficial technology.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives to understand startup requirements and translate them into technical solutions throughout Claude adoption from evaluation to deployment.
• Win technical evaluations and help startups measure Claude's performance via evaluation frameworks.
• Build credibility with founders and startup engineers by speaking their language and guiding architecture decisions.
• Gather insights on startup use cases and deployment patterns; feed feedback to Product and Engineering teams.
• Travel to customer sites and startup events for workshops and relationship-building.
