Job summary

AeroVironment is hiring an entry-level Software Engineer I (Applications) in California. You will design, develop, test, and deploy software for new products and cloud-based tools in an agile, collaborative environment.

The role emphasizes learning, unit testing, and working with multiple engineering teams to deliver quality code on schedule. Bachelor's in CS/CE/EE required, 0–2 years of experience, and willingness to travel locally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in Windows or Linux application software development; OOD and Qt a plus
• Expertise in C#, .Net, Java, C++, and/or Web UI
• Familiarity with SVN and Git for source control
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging techniques
• Understanding of data structures, databases and OS concepts
• Willingness to travel locally occasionally

Responsibilities

• Writes modular, reusable, testable, scalable code and unit tests
• Participates in software design reviews and lifecycle activities
• Delivers work on time within schedule and budget
• Supports full product lifecycle from design to maintenance
• Uses JIRA to log work and coordinate with teams
• Follow AV's development process under supervision
• Collaborates with other engineering disciplines
