Job summary

Actalent in Horsham, PA seeks an Applications Engineer to develop accurate quotations for complex capital equipment and engineering solutions, aligning pricing with current designs and cost structures. You’ll maintain pricing frameworks, perform margin analyses, and collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Field Service to ensure feasible, profitable proposals.

Proficiency with SAP/CPQ tools is required, with a hands-on, cross-functional mindset.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline.
3+ years in capital equipment or semiconductor manufacturing.
Hands-on BOM generation and interpretation.
Experience in manufacturing and capital equipment with understanding of complex systems.
Experience in semiconductor-related manufacturing processes and equipment is highly valuable.
Proficiency with SAP or other ERP systems to manage pricing, costs, and configuration data.
Demonstrated job quoting and pricing experience for complex equipment and engineering solutions.
Experience using CPQ tools (such as Pro Quote or similar) to configure products and generate accurate quotations.
Solid mechanical engineering understanding to interpret designs and align technical solutions with customer needs.
Ability to analyze cost models and margins to support pricing decisions and profitable growth.

Responsibilities

Develop accurate quotations for complex capital equipment and system upgrades.
Ensure quotations reflect strong technical accuracy and commercial soundness.
Maintain and update pricing frameworks and cost models to support business strategy.
Perform margin analyses to ensure pricing profitability across products and customer segments.
Evaluate commercial feasibility with costs, pricing structures, and expected margins.
Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, and Field Service to confirm technical feasibility.
Review and interpret BOMs to support cost estimates and quotation development.
Use CPQ and ERP tools to generate quotations and manage pricing data.
Support continuous improvement of quoting and pricing processes to increase speed and accuracy.
Ensure pricing and quotation practices align with internal policies and long-term growth.
