Job summary

AWC, Inc. is seeking an Application Engineer to support our sales team by translating customer needs into actionable technology implementations.

You will work with customers to understand applications, then propose PLC, HMI, SCADA, and networking solutions while collaborating with inside and outside sales. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, problem solving, and the ability to manage a complex schedule across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 2- or 4-Year Technical Degree (Engineering preferred).
• 2 years of hands-on technical experience.
• Strong technical aptitude.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Self Confidence and the ability to manage conflict.
• Ability to manage a team to meet multiple deadlines and approvals with strict attention to detail.
• Positive attitude/strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Communicate how to implement technical solutions with key accounts.
• Work with inside and outside sales team to implement word-class technology solutions.
• Teach concepts from basics of electricity and motor control to SCADA database management and networking.
• Provide technical support for PLC, I/O, HMI, SCADA, Drives, Synchronized Motion Control, Networking, WiFi, Radios, Motor Controls, Control Panel Design, and Power Distribution.
• Troubleshoot existing facilities and networks to get customers back up and running.
• Develop Bills-Of-Material based on customer requirements.
• Demonstrate hardware and software proficiency.
• Document best practices and share with colleagues.
• Motivated self-starter with the unique ability to manage a complex schedule.
