Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a hands-on System Engineer to deliver industrial and commercial control systems services to local customers. This field-heavy role requires travel to customer sites and interaction with industrial machinery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of direct experience programming PLCs (Allen Bradley, MOSCAD, etc.) and 5+ years of HMI software (Wonderware, VTSCADA, Lookout).

Qualifications

• 5+ years of direct, hands-on industry experience programming PLCs and working with process/flow control systems.
• 5+ years of experience with computer-based HMI software (Wonderware, VTSCADA, Lookout).
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or an Associate Degree with extensive field experience.

Responsibilities

• Field Engineering & Support: provide local control systems engineering service for customers relating to SCADA, PLCs, CAD drawings, industrial networking, and system calibration.
• Technician interfacing: support instrument technicians in the field with interfacing field devices to DCS/SCADA systems and provide technical support.
• Project & Contract Management: collaborate with engineers to resolve project backlogs and maintain relationships with customers.
• On-Site Upgrades: identify opportunities for system/hardware upgrades at customer facilities.
• Documentation & Safety: report activity and logs; communicate safety protocols on active job sites.
• Travel: travel to local job sites daily using a company vehicle.
