Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol, seeks an Application Development Engineer to interface with customers, internal product teams, and sales, driving interconnect and hardware solutions for diverse markets.

You will lead design reviews, develop concepts, and accelerate product development using first principles, with strong PCB design and prototyping skills, and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proficiency with PCB/electrical design tools (Altium, Cadence/OrCAD, PADS, KiCad or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of power distribution, voltage/current, circuit protection, grounding, and basic analog/digital electronics.
• Ability to prototype, test, and troubleshoot hardware.
• Ability to create technical presentations and proposals.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• This role is critical to supporting Amphenol's growth in automotive, robotics, energy storage, and AI infrastructure with reliable hardware and interconnect designs.
• Work with customers to develop solutions that address their needs and satisfy technical requirements.
• Deep expertise in PCB design and development including schematic capture, component selection, PCB layout and design.
• Lead internal design reviews and product development meetings with customers.
• Create technical presentations to propose concepts and present solutions to customers.
• Proficient in Windchill, Creo, and product configurators.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including schematics, drawings, specifications, test plans, and reports.
• Hands-on prototyping, testing, debugging, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Engage cross-functional teams to support design proposals and lab testing.
• Travel as required.
