Job summary

Winbro invites applications for an Applications Engineer in Rock Hill, SC. The role blends engineering know-how, software optimization, and project leadership to deliver impactful solutions for customer applications.

Responsibilities include supporting trials, improving software-based processes, and leading NPI activities. Travel to customer sites is 50–75% and US citizen/green card is required due to customer access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical/computer engineering or physics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with 5-axis machine tool controls (Laser Drilling, Cutting, Welding, Laser Ablation, EDM).
• Strong understanding of 5-axis machine tool principles, operation, and kinematics.
• Ability to interpret, manipulate, and apply complex 3D geometry.

Responsibilities

• Support trials and programming improvements through software and applications modifications.
• Lead and support NPI activities; transition customer products from concept to production-ready processes.
• Develop/optimize machine tools and processes using Laser Ablation, Laser Drilling, and EDM; support future product development.
• Provide machine/tool demonstrations and technical training; deliver applications support for machine tool contracts.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support; analyze metallurgical samples; create docs, reports, and work instructions for process transfer.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
